Student Intern Supply Chain
Christopher Borgmann – “The support by Armacell during the time I wrote my thesis was outstanding”
Internship – Bachelor’s Thesis – WCM Support – Student Intern – that’s Christopher’s way through Armacell, which started in June 2013. After he had finished his study abroad of Business Administration in Ireland, Christopher was looking for some practical insights and started his internship at Armacell’s Supply Chain in Muenster. Afterwards, he wrote his Bachelor’s Thesis about the ”Development and evaluation of a just-in-time concept for packaging materials on the example of Armacell GmbH”.
I worked on the development of this concept for four months. After having finished it I joined Armacell as World Class Manufacturing Support and had the chance to experience the implementation of the concept that I had developed.
As Christopher had worked on the project intensively, it was possible to apply with it for the A.R.M.A. Way Awards. And guess what – the team won the Award in the category “Manage Our Cash” and now works with the new system successfully. Christopher then started his Master’s studies of Logistics and supports the WAM Team for Workplace Organization Logistics and Customer Service as a student intern.
“I learned a lot in my time at Armacell – during the implementation phase of the just-in-time project I did not only learn a lot about project management and its importance but also to perform as a team with many people involved. What I like about working here is that it never gets boring: There is no daily business, my work environment in the WAM team is international and I feel that my opinion is valued and important.”
That is why Christopher highly recommends such a cooperation with Armacell to students: “When I wrote my thesis, the support of Jeannine, Supply Chain Manager, was outstanding. At the same time, I was able to work independently on my thesis and I could see how useful my work is in practice. So, at Armacell I received exactly what I had been searching, when I was looking for an internship.”
